Amazon Android App Store

got my email today notifying me about the official opening of the Amazon Appstore for Android. This looks to be Amazon's attempt to break into the Android market-share. I suspect, as others, that Amazon will soon release an Android-based Kindle. That makes my mouth water! Imagine a Kindle Tablet device that will compete with the iPad 2 or the Motorola Xoom, and probably for cheaper.

There's nothing significantly special about the Amazon Appstore. There seems to be a similar number off apps, and over-the-air install. However, the biggest feature, which sets Amazon apart from Google and Apple is the "free app-a-day feature" (it's offered with their music too). Today's app is Angry Birds Rio, which is an addition to the popular free game.

I encourage you to check it out.
