Selecting a New Smartphone

As I told you, I became eligible for an upgrade to my phone for a "discounted" price. I debated between 3 phones: the Motorola Droid Bionic, the Motorola Razr, and the HTC Rezound. Each phone has significiant advantages over my prior phones, and each are set to receive the Ice Cream Sandwich update when available.

However, there's some differences between these 3 Verzion Android devices. My biggest consideration was price. This led me to purchase the Motorola Droid Bionic. The Razr and Rezound were each $299.99 with the upgrade, while the Bionic was $50 less.

As far as I could tell, the Bionic was only missing 2 things that the Rezound had: BeatsAudio(with accompanying Ibeats earbuds) and a 1.5 gHz processor. I'm slightly discouraged I didn't get the earbuds, but couldn't care less about the larger processor.

By weight comparison, I don't think the Bionic weighs enough more than the smaller Razr to discourage that purchase. With the addition of the extended battery, the Bionic is only slightly heavier than my Motorola Droid (original), with many times more capabilities.

One thing I'm slightly frustrated with is the camera settings on the Bionic. The camera doesn't seem to be as reflexive as other Android devices, but I suspect enough tinkering wll take care of that.

So, if you're looking for a great Android smartphone, you need to consider the HTC Rezound or the Motorola Droid Bionic.
