As the Android OS begins overtaking Apples iOS, a large number of iOS fans have started highlighting the extreme differences between the two operating systems.
For instance, check out this post where I discuss a similar critique posed by Ramesh. Well, heres another follow-up on from CBS Moneywatch via PC World.
This time, the killer arguments are no different. Pundits always start with the cool factor to justify the purchase of an iPad, and end with better apps.
I dont think that any of the arguments is entirely certain, and I still think that the Asus Transformer contains a cool factor with its detachable keyboard. Moreover, there are certainly some cool, Android only apps (check out this post or this post or this post) that will make iOS users drool. Remember, until recently, only Android users could create PDF documents from their devices.
Both authors seem to point to the better productivity apps as certain reasons why iPad rules. Admittedly, some Android applications dont come close to those available on the iPad, especially when were talking productivity apps for lawyers. However, I guarantee that anything document, calendar or productivity related, which iPad users argue doesnt work the same certainly does.
I suspect that its the perspective youre seeking. While theres a significantly large number of awesome apps for either device, the truth is, youll probably only use a handful of them.
